The Luck of the Irish

10 Mar

First things first…

My daughter’s cheer team did awesome yesterday! She cheers on two different teams and both of them placed FIRST yesterday! And one of the teams also won Grand Champs which means they had the highest score of every team across all ages in their skill level!

Super proud of her and all the hard work she puts into cheering! And everything else that she does for that matter!

And somehow in between the 2 hour drive each way, along with cheering her on, I was able to get a few pictures of my latest St. Patrick’s Day goodies…

An assortment of treats all dressed up and ready to party!

I used the same basic premise for both, but decided to take the cupcake idea one step further with some candy as well…

I added a scalloped circle base (cut using one of my Spellbinders dies) to hold everything together (I didn’t want the candy falling through the bottom of the liners!)

No, I didn’t have time to actually make the cupcakes too…Thank you Stop & Shop!

A pot of gold…

Filled with Rolos!

The same label I use for my Hershey Kiss treats, also fits on Rolos perfectly!

What I used to create them…

First I designed the striped paper…I cut the wrappers out from this paper using my Lifestyle Crafts Scalloped Cupcake Liner Die…

Then I created the chevron background and went on to design the toppers…I made them square because I wasn’t sure what size/shape I wanted to cut them out in…So now they can be used like I did or they could put cut into squares for labels or tags…

The Hershey Kiss labels were next…

Once I had the paper stuff printed and put together, it was time to fancify…

Ribbon, buttons, and rhinestones do the trick…

Would you like to use these to create your own St. Patrick’s Day treats? Either follow The Life of the Party (sign up in my sidebar) or like us on Facebook, then leave me a comment letting me know that you did…

Once I hear from you, I’ll send a pdf along to you in an email…all ready to let your creative juices flow!

I’ve got one more fun idea for St. Patrick’s Day rolling around in my head…I hope to get it done over the next few days to share with you…

Wish me luck!

Enjoy the Party!

God Bless Aine – Girl’s First Holy Communion

16 May

Wowsers…I am just about First Holy Communioned out!!

Today I finished a very girlie pink First Communion order for a special young lady…

I think I’ve mentioned before that banners are soooo time consuming for me…I obsess over every detail, trying to make sure everything is just perfect…

The cutting, the layering, the gluing, adding the rhinestones, tying to ribbons…it seems to take forever, but in the end when I stand back and look at it, it is so worth the effort! 🙂 My pictures don’t always do them justice…might be time to invest in a better camera!

To coordinate with the banner, I was also asked to make cupcake toppers and favor tags…

And another order ready to be delivered…Here’s hoping a wonderful celebration for Aine!

Now, only 100 miniature candy bars and more cupcake toppers to go before I’m back to graduation work! 🙂

Enjoy the Party!

Bloom where you are Planted

4 Apr

After Mother Nature’s wonderful April Fools’ joke of 6 inches of snow in my part of the woods, I was beginning to wonder if spring would ever arrive…But thankfully the weather has taken a turn for the better over the last few days! I can feel spring in the air and long for her pretty pinks and blooming flowers – let’s just hope she stays around this time! As an enticement to ensure that happens, I present to you, the ‘Bloom where you are Planted’ theme:

First up is the Bloom plaque:

Pinwheels to spin in the spring breeze:

Live, Love, Laugh Cupcake Toppers:

A dainty Cake Bunting and more Toppers:

And one last look, to remind me to that spring isn’t too far away 🙂

Hope you enjoy…and hope spring is finally poking through in your neck of the woods too!
